It's only a model.

Jk. It's not a model at all. No. But it's the Dover Castle! It was built about a hundred years after the Tower of London. This site makes my long list of things in England older than U.S.A :) The Dover Castle was built by Henry II. It was a perfect place to build a castle. On clear day, standing on top of those hills, you can easily see the French coast. This convenient location was also used during WWII, to help the soldiers escape the French coast. Dover was left unbombed for the most part, since Hitler wanted to have that castle as his own once he took over England. He also wanted Buckingham Palace as his own. Mind you these photos are taken before we have even entered the castle. We were instantly won over with the obvious beauty of the sea side castle. Upon entering, it was agreed that I would be the prince while the other two girls wearing dresses, Camille and Lauren were going to be the princesses. I was selected mostly because I was the one wearing the black boots :) T

I woke up today, being a Saturday, with the entire day open to anything I wanted to do. The day before was a long day trip to Dover, and I was still exhausted from that. I fancied a day out in the city, by myself. Most of this trip I am always with at least one other person. It felt really nice to just go out there and do whatever I wanted! So I asked myself what I really wanted to do. I have relatively little time left here in London. I needed to do something I've wanted to do since I got here before time runs out. Naturally, my choice was to go to the Sherlock Holmes museum! There it is you guys! The actual home where Sherlock Holmes lived, right there on Baker Street. Yes, I do speak of Sherlock Holmes as if he actually once upon a time existed. All of the museum's descriptions say things like "This is where Holmes slept" or "This is the parlor where Holmes and Watson received their clients." They had everything so carefully decorated with ob
